Accommodations in Eilat

Please contact me directly for help or advice in securing accommodations in Eilat.

Some words of general advice:

Note that Eilat accommodations can be found in any one of the 3 main areas: the "hotel area", the "south beach", and "in town". Each has its advantages and disadvantages. In any case I'll pick you up and return you daily to/from your accommodations, so distance isn't an issue. Rates will always be higher in August and around Jewish holiday periods, and in some cases Christmas/New Year's. The typical rates below are for 2 people in a room, and I translated shekel rates to US dollars for convenience.

Hostels, Motels and B&B ($35-70/night, less for dorm-style shared rooms): I recommend Arava (tel 052-8326851) and the Youth Hostel and Guesthouse (tel 02-5945611) as being clean and well-maintained. Both are in town. The Youth Hostel is a bit more expensive but includes a generous breakfast. Arava has a nice garden sitting area. The Cactus B&B (054-5948139) is pleasant and clean. Each room has a private terrace.

Budget hotels ($70-120/night, best through an internet discounter): Marina Club and Americana are reliable, and C Hotel is a good bet in town. In fact, most places in this range are OK. I cannot recommend places on the south beach such as Prima Music or Orchid Reef (both perfectly nice hotels) because of nights with terribly loud music in the wee hours from the nearby beach bars.

Full-priced and luxury hotels ($120-300/night): The Dan Panorama and the Astral Village or Astral Seaside in the hotel area get high grades from my customers. Just about anything in the hotel area will be comfortable. Bear in mind that the higher-priced hotels offer a lot of amenities that you may not be able to enjoy if you spend all your time diving or in a course.

Apartments and self-catering ($50-200/night): Many of the 'apartments' in Eilat advertised on the internet are nothing more than rooms carved out of someone's house or apartment. Some are gloomy or don't have private entrances, but many are perfectly OK. If you think you've found a good place, let me know and I'll check it out for you before you book. I can recommend Villa Kibel which consists of nice, well-lit self-catering studio apartments, and which is not far from the dive center. Rooms have desert coolers rather than air conditioners. You can book directly or through me. Prices range from about $45 to $90/night in the low season (winter) and $70 to $120 in the high season).
